Inspired by the word ‘Egg’ it’s shape and references to fertility, combined with a fascination of Sigmund Freud, was how Tal R came up with the idea of making 50 unique patchwork designs as a tribute to the Arne Jacobsen, Egg™ chair. Each individual Egg has its own recipe and history with the use of fabrics from all over the world and a title with direct references to Freud writings, his closest friends or his family such as Martha (Freud’s wife), Irma (Freud’s ‘classic’ early dream analysis) and Adler (a close friend, medical doctor and psychologist to Freud).
For the past two years the Eggs have been touring the world visiting Milan, Seoul, Brisbane, Sydney, Tokyo, Helsinki, Paris & Oslo. They are now back in Copenhagen and to celebrate the homecoming they will be exhibited in our showroom from the 23rd of November until the 20th of December. If you are living in Denmark or happen to be visiting during this time, we would be pleased to welcome you to our showroom to have a glance at the colourful exhibition.
