Today, Kasper Salto and the design team from Fritz Hansen are challenging themselves in an “Open Co-Lab” using veneer from the Series 7™ production. This gives a unique insight into a part of the design process which is normally hidden from the public.
“Open Co-Labs” at Fritz Hansen serves as an open innovative platform where we experiment with materials, technologies and processes together with designers, sub-suppliers, artists, design schools etc. An Open Co-lab doesn’t have to lead to commercial products but serves as inspiration for everyone participating. By using the cut-off veneer from the Series 7 production, the design team has to challenge themselves at maximum: How can we reinvent the use of veneer? What qualities does this material have structurally, visually and emotionally? Throughout the day we will upload images documenting the process and you can also follow the process on Twitter.
