Award winning, Danish Designer Kasper Salto will be visiting Stockholm during the design week and participating in an experimental workshop together with the Republic of Fritz Hansen’s design team.
The open, co lab experimental workshop will give a unique insight into a part of the design process which is normally hidden behind closed doors. Kasper Salto and Fritz Hansen’s design team will experiment with materials, technologies and processes that will result in a new type of furniture for sitting.
Kasper Salto is recognized as being one of the most talented and influential furniture designers of our time, who has over the years received numerous international awards for his designs. Graduating as a cabinet maker in 1988 and then later at the Design School in Copenhagen, it was the Runner chair that Kasper designed for Peter Staerk in 1997 which had an influential impact on his design profession.
It saw the rise of interesting collaborations with international design companies and sparked the beginning of a long and successful relationship with Fritz Hansen where Kasper Salto designed the Ice™ series in 2002 and popular Little Friend™ table in 2005.
The experimental workshop will take place in Republic of Fritz Hansen’s showroom in Stockholm on Högbergsgatan 93, Tuesday 9th February. Design enthusiasts are welcome to drop by and participate or watch the design star in action.
The results of the workshop will be exhibited in the showroom during the design week in Stockholm. Click here to see the full program of activities.
