AVOIDING THINGS YOU DON’T NEED STILL HOLDS

Written by 12 November 2009

Louise B. Zastrow

Inspired by situations in her daily life – award winning Cecilie Manz has, by combining two trestles and a table top, designed a table for life. Simple lines and durability are only a few words describing the solid table, Essay™.

Cecilie grew up in her parents workshop playing with a chunk of clay and you might say that this is where the foundation for a life, entirely focused on design, started – After exploring her creativity at the Danish Design School, she now constantly enriches the world with design where she expresses that minimalism is here to stay.

“There are some who claim that minimalism is dead. I disagree strongly. I think that simplifying furniture and avoiding things you don’t need still holds” Cecilie Manz

Just this week, her Essay™ table was awarded for the 2nd time. This time the award was given in the category of Best Dining Table 2009, by the Danish Interior Magazine RUM ID.
